A cute little brown hare came and sat just in front of the car…
Common kingfisher
A quick stop at Isarau by Achering…
And 3 common kingfishers were busy fishing… I caught one enjoying it’s dinner sitting very close.
Garchinger Heide
We are out at Garchinger Heide today, to photograph butterflies and insects…
Juvenile common kestrels
We often drive through Freisinger Moos in the evenings and today really paid off.
We were lucky to get a glimpse of two juvenile common kestrels in an old barn.
They were really curious 🙂
We knew that a couple of common kestrels we living in the area and we have often seen them scouting from this barn.
We only saw the juveniles this evening, so this was a very lucky coincidence!
Golden oriole
Today we are on a new location, which we got as a tip from one of Mettes instagram friends, in Landshut. It has the catchy name “Ehemaliger Standortübungsplatz Landshut mit Isarleite” – here is a link to more info.
It turned out to be a great location and we spotted about 5 golden oriole flying around. They are normally very hard to spot – even though they have a very distinct call/song.
